Avon Scouts - Avonja

The UK Uganda Network relies upon the voluntary work of individual Scouts and Leaders to produce a successful Network to support Scouting in the UK and in Uganda. It would be unfair to single out any individuals as everyone gives whatever they can in terms of time and resources. The Network is grateful to each one of them.

From time to time a Network requires much more than time and effort but also needs the support of a sound administrative and financial Team. You would be wrong to believe that HQ has an unlimited resources available ready to support bodies such as the UK Uganda Network. Although the International Team at Headquarters is always ready to give guidance in the work of the Network the success of the Network is that it lies outside of the formal structure of the Scout Association and is therefore a non-constituted body.

The day to day administrative and financial support is given to the Network through its Co-ordinator Alan Beavis and Berkshire Scout Enterprises Ltd. The Network is most grateful to the company for its continuous support and in particular its support for the Uganda 2000 and Uganda 2003 projects. Without such support financial guarantees would have been difficult to achieve.

Berkshire Scout Enterprises Ltd also supports the Network by financing the web space and domain registration.

For the site to run efficiently the web links, both internal and external, need to be kept up to date. This is done by regularly checking all of the links using CyberSpyder which was kindly donated to the UK Uganda Network by the software manufacturer. Please help the Network by considering CyberSpyder to maintain your Web Site.

The UK Uganda Network Web Site runs on DSVR of Manchester and with the facility of domain aliasing is able to operate a multi domain configuration. Mail facilities including lists and mail forwarding as well as aliasing are also provided to the Network through its Web Site facility at DSVR. This facility is presently shared with Berkshire Scout Enterprises Ltd.

The Web Site Team can be contacted by email to  webugnet@ugandanetwork.org.uk

The Web Site Team is grateful to the Operational Management Team of ScoutBase UK for support in establishing the Web Site and in particular to James Smith for support in using Perl Scripting which is essential to the site functioning. Note that James Smith is the personal copyright holder of several of the scripts running on the site. They may not be copied or changed without his personal and written permission.
